I used to have the biggest blue eyes. With lots of lid. Oh how I loved playing with eye makeup on those endless lids! I’ve watched my eyes look smaller and smaller as the droop seems to hang more and more. I’ve learned the make up tricks to fool others eyes into seeing bigger ones than are really there when they look at me. Ignoring your mascara choice is not a smart way to go in this endeavor. I was so excited to be part of the #YSLMascara Campaign via Influenster this past month focusing on Yves Saint Laurent MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS. I received a gorgeously packaged Vox Box with my YSL Mascara wrapped in black and gold. I could not wait to try it out.
I usually wear simple, clean mascara and a more natural look. But I also like to bulk up the lash line even when going make up free. Being a web designer that works from home, I do not get out dressed up for my work days. I do like to pass the mirror without thinking, dang girl. So I wash my face and straighten my hair. Can I say how adding a coat of mascara after a swoop of the lash curler has gone through them makes a difference?? Even with no make up, something about mascara just wakes up your eyes and opens them for the day.
With the YSL Mascara it for sure only takes one coat for me. Maybe I use a tad of a second coat in the outside corners to give them that final touch. I wear contacts and also glasses and the mascara always stayed in place. A biggie. It is a long wearing mascara at 18 hours! I loved wearing it on a naked eye as well as going full out smokey which you definitely need a good mascara for. It is loaded with B5 Vitamins, so it is nourishing my lashes while it lengthens and thickens them at the same time. Win. It’s secret is the Triple-Intensity Formula: intense volume, intense color and now intense care.
So I am taking care of my lashes while enjoying seeing my eyes look youthful again!
Keeping it beautiful!

This is a review of the new NIV New Spirit-Filled Life Bible, with Jack Hayford as the editor. I really wanted the physical copy of this bible as mine are all back in storage in Nashville. I downloaded the ebook version on to my iPad and use the Kindle App. I am used to reading digital, and keeping my bag light, so, this was a blessing as well. When I saw Jack Hayford was the editor, I knew I wanted my hands flipping through this bible. I’ve been watching him preach on tv for decades.
First, I want to say the tag line for the title is, “KINGDOM EQUIPPING THROUGH THE POWER OF THE WORD.” It is not what many reviewers are saying, “Find the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible.” The description of this bible is:
Find the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible. Jack Hayford, founding pastor of The Church on the Way, has led a team of anointed scholars to produce the New Spirit-Filled Life Bible. This outstanding resource offers a fresh look at the Scriptures and the work of the Holy Spirit. This Bible addresses important issues of Spirit-filled living in the context of solid biblical scholarship.
This is accomplished by integrating the following through the pages and text of one of my fav versions of the bible, The NIV version.
Kingdom Dynamics—41 themes throughout the Bible that give us values as we advance the gospel throughout the world.
Word Wealth—More than 550 key terms defined and brought to life, pulling the language from the original Greek and Hebrew into everyday English.
Truth-In-Action—Charts with practical application from every book of the Bible.
Detailed book introductions: Author details, Date details, Key Words, Content, Personal Application, Christ Revealed in that book, The Holy Spirit at Work in this book and an detailed outline of the book.
Perfection. You know the word. You either chase it or run the other way. When will we realize that there is a balance in the middle? Myquillyn Smith of The Nester, pulls from her personal journey through rental after rental on how to create a beautiful home wherever you are by letting go of the perfection. You can breathe now. Perfection does not create a beautiful home, your heart does.
It was a no brainer for me to want to review this book. I’ve been decorating since I was a teenager. Surprising my mom when she would come home to a whole new look in the living room due to me dragging the furniture around to create a fresh look in the room. Any room I could get my hands on, (or legs) I’d be on the floor pushing furniture with my legs across the room or into another room. It gave me confidence to hit the paint store and paint my walls the most beautiful shade of lilac & iridescence pale aqua. (it was the 80’s) It was the walls of my High school bedroom, that was actually the dining room. A dining room that was never used in our family of 6 as we always used the eat in kitchen. Having to share a room w/2 other sisters, I saw that room as an escape! Which my mom allowed. Adding just a sliding plastic door to the doorway it became the first room I did not have to share. I was in heaven.

As most of you know, my daughter & I are very close. In every way possible I have always instilled the love that God has for her. One fun way to do this through the years has been jewelry! Ok, no judgment here 🙂 I have always enjoyed jewelry that ‘spoke’ to me, so I… Continue Reading
