Create. Right. Where. You. Are. Oh! If it were only that simple.

NashPad Art Room Noelle Mena
A corner of my room to create here at The Nash Pad.

I am not one that can create just anywhere. Atmosphere either feeds me or exhausts me. Settling into the new Nash Pad & I took the small bedroom so I could take over the extra room for creating physical and digital art. Loving that as I work on my Web & Print Design & Development company in one corner, the rest of the room screams inspiration for creating offline.

Take over I have! Lots to create in the designing of the room itself. Furniture refinishing, Goodwill finds to refurbish into studio necessities. All going together, of course 🙂 Then, yes, then, when all is where it should be, I will work on new canvases. Develop new processes and preferences.

Join me on the journey as we go into the Room to Create.

Always, always use beautiful things.

Use beautiful tools when creating.
Always, always use beautiful things.

What good are they on a shelf? I never use paper plates or plastic etc. even in the #nashpadartroom I take cleaning up just as serious. I hit Goodwill & even use family heirlooms while creating. It”s part of my process. Just like creating an art room is part of me being able to sit down & do art.

Atmosphere. It feeds me or exhausts me. #nashpad #creatinghome #create

My SketchBook Case

I wanted to Create something that I could use & then one day pass down. It all started w/a $1 Hardbound book from the $1 store. I had seen Jeane Oliver rip out the pages of a book to then use the binding for a Mixed Media Journal. One of my fav things to do is to re-purpose not just physical objects, but ideas! I have learned in the art world online, at least with the Mixed Media Circle I have found myself in, it’s ok to learn something new and then incorporate it into something you can do.

Finished my 'on the go' sketchbook case. I'm so excited you guys! It holds my sketchbook, my Marks All Pencils & paint brushes. For sketching & light water color. I had soooooo much fun doing this. I ripped out the pages of a thick hard bound $1 store book. I'll post an album later of the inside & process. #create I can't express how centered it brings me to get my hands in art again. Love. ...At the The Nash Pad
